Emily's first tooth.

Well Emily cut her first tooth today. She's been very fussy lately and now I know why. I haven't really been checking often to see if a tooth had popped through... my mom found it when Emily bit her thumb. So now she has become the worst drooler ever. Back to bibs I suppose!

Family Reunion

Yesterday was the Young family reunion. (My dad's mom's side). Just thought I would post some pictures since nobody really knows my side of the family! This is my soon-to-be cousin Ashley who is going to be on "Style by Jury" for a 'plain jane to blushing bride' makeover! (And Will, the 30-week premie baby - he is now 2 years old)

A Visit from Jen and Heather

A few weeks ago my roommates from second and third year came to visit Emily. Most of you know Heather Rickard (now McCallum) who now lives in St. Thomas, but Jen and her boyfriend Mark came all the way from Flesherton. We had a nice visit... we have to do it more often.

Swimming!

Emily went in my parent's pool for the first time yesterday. Justin took her in and she just LOVED it. I thought she wouldn't be too keen on it since the pool was already in the shade and not that warm, but she had a blast. She kicked and kicked like crazy until she was completely exhausted! It was a great way to tire out my very active baby!

I do have a good excuse!!

I know I haven't blogged lately, but there is a reason... Our old computer (mine from university) finally gave out on us. So now we are using my sister's old, old computer (it still has windows 98 on it!!) for the time being until we can afford a new one. It's super fast compared to our old one, probably because there's nothing on it!! And I can go on the internet no problem, I just can't upload my pictures from our digital camera. I have lots to post, but no ability! Hopefully Justin will be able to put a program onto this computer to make it upload pictures.

Past and Present

Stephen and Janet have raised quite a little ham! As soon as Aidan realizes you are taking a picture of him he gives the goofiest grin ever. I have about 10 pictures of him doing this pose, but figured I would only post 3! What a cutie!

Instead of going to the park this morning (since none of our kids really benefit from it too much) we decided to rent a movie, eat pizza and brownies, and just hang out! Thanks Jan for a great day. Ethan and Aidan have become such good friends now that their age gap isn't as noticeable. It was so much fun watching them play together..... they are hilarious!

This is all my sweet baby can really do right now, but I must say she looks awfully cute doing it!

Ethan was SO determined to sit in the Bumbo chair meant for Abby. Megan warned him a couple of times, but he just had to sit down. Little did he know that he wouldn't be able to get up! Don't worry, his mom pulled him out RIGHT after I took this picture!

Sorry Ladies!!

I've been neglecting my blog lately, but spare time is hard to find these days! And the weather has been so beautiful that I would rather be outside.
I don't have much new to post, just some more baby pictures. The last picture is of Emily on the quilt that Jacqui VMS made her.

And a quick kitchen update.... I don't have any pictures to post but I'll take some and post them soon. But, all the boxes for the cabinets are made and Justin is going to put in a sink today (the one from Rob and Taun didn't work -- the screws fell apart) but luckily enough Dan and Mel had one that has a broken clamp on one end (so the one corner of the sink sticks up from the counter) but this is just temporary for us so it's better than having to buy one new. Thanks guys! Eventually we will have an undermount sink and Justin will hopefully have the water working tomorrow or Thursday.

Emily's baptism

The baptismal gown that Emily wore was knit by my grandma and both my sister and I were baptized in it. We had to replace the ribbon, but other than that it's held up great.

Believe it or not, the top picture is Justin, and the bottom two are of me. I think it's pretty impossible to decide who Emily looks like considering Justin and I could have been twins when we were babies!

One Month Pictures

I had a little more luck with the pictures than I did before... they're still not the greatest, but they'll do for now. I had to post one of her screaming pictures just because I think it's so funny (and it captures her anger!)

One Month Old!

Well, Emily is one month old today. I tried to take some pictures this morning but she would only scream at me which doesn't make for very nice pictures! I'll attempt round two this afternoon.
Just as an FYI for those who would like to know, you can find me at my mom's house most days. Emily has decided that taking two 45 minute naps between the hours of 10pm and 6am is quite sufficient. Needless to say I am plagued with sheer exhaustion! I am very blessed to have my mom so close and willing to take on a couple of night shifts a week. Also, during the day Emily is very fussy and cranky, so having an extra set of hands to pass her off to is very nice. If anyone needs to get a hold of me you can reach me at my parents.
I decided to take Emily to the doctor this week, even though I was certain nothing is wrong with her, but I just wanted to rule out the possibility that there could be something medically wrong with her (I would feel awful if in a few months we found out there was a problem that could have been treated!) and there is indeed nothing bothering her... she's just gassy and fussy! So my doctor recommended switching her to soy formula just in case she has an allergy to cow's milk. So we started that on Tuesday...... not much of a change in her behaviour, but she's no worse!
But even though she's a handful Justin and I are enjoying and loving her so much. She is such a blessing to our family and we are so thankful to have her in our lives. Hopefully in a couple of weeks she'll be sleeping a bit better and be a bit happier, but even if she stays awake for the rest of her life we would still never change anything about her.
Anyway, sorry to bore you, I'll post some pictures later on (hopefully).
